The FCC Form 302- CA is to be used by LPTV stations that seek to convert to Class A status in accordance with the Community Broadcasters Protection Act of 1999. Commencing Friday, June 9, 2000 and continuing for a six- month period, eligible LPTV licensees may file FCC Form 302- CA to convert the secondary status of their stations to the new Class A status. By separate Public Notice issued today, the Mass Media Bureau has announced the LPTV licensees deemed eligible to file an application for Class A status in accordance with the procedures set forth in the Commission’s Report and Order in MM Docket No. 00- 10, entitled “Establishment of a Class A Television Service,” 15 FCC Rcd 6355 (2000). The new FCC 302- CA is available through the Internet. To retrieve the new form by using the Internet, access the FCC’s home page, http:// www. fcc. gov, and click on the Forms link. Printed copies of the FCC 302- CA can be obtained by writing to the Commission’s Form Distribution Center, 9300 East Hampton Drive, Capital Heights, Maryland 20743, or by calling 1 (800) 418- 3676 and leaving a request on the answering machine provided for this purpose. The FCC 302- CA is also available using the Mass Media Bureau Consolidated Database System (CDBS) electronic filing system. This system will provide the public with the ability to fill out FCC Form 302- CA on- line via the Internet from the Mass Media Bureau’s Web Site, http:// www. fcc. gov/ mmb, and to file them electronically with the Commission. Internet access to the CDBS requires a user to have, at a minimum, a browser such as Netscape version 3.04 or Internet Explorer version 3.51.
