CC Docket No. 00- 218 Released: October 27, 2000 On October 26, 2000, WorldCom, Inc. (WorldCom) filed a petition pursuant section 252( e)( 5) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, which asks the FCC to preempt the jurisdiction of the Virginia State Corporation Commission. WorldCom states that the Virginia Commission has failed to act when requested to arbitrate interconnection disputes between WorldCom and Bell Atlantic- Virginia, Inc. WorldCom requests that the FCC assume jurisdiction over and arbitrate WorldCom’s interconnection agreements with Bell Atlantic- Virginia, Inc. Interested parties may file comments regarding the WorldCom petition no later than November 13, 2000, with the Magalie Roman Salas, Office of the Secretary, 445 12 th Street, SW, Room TW- B204, Washington, DC 20554.
