C. 20554 DA 00- 2794 COMMISSION SEEKS COMMENT ON PETITION FOR CONDITIONAL WAIVER FILED BY BELLSOUTH CC Docket No. 98- 147 Released: December 11, 2000 Comments: December 28, 2000 Reply Comments: Waived On December 1, 2000, BellSouth Corporation and BellSouth Telecommunications, Inc. (BellSouth) filed a petition for conditional waiver of certain requirements adopted in Deployment of Wireline Services Offering Advanced Telecommunications Capability, Order on Reconsideration, FCC 00- 297 (rel. Aug 10, 2000) (Collocation Reconsideration Order). The Collocation Reconsideration Order requires incumbent local exchange carriers (incumbent LECs) to provision physical collocation arrangements within 90 days of receiving an acceptable collocation application, except to the extent a state sets its own standards or a requesting carrier and an incumbent LEC agree to an alternative standard. BellSouth requests a conditional waiver of that 90- day interval similar to the waivers granted to Verizon Telephone Companies (Verizon) and SBC Communications Inc. (SBC) in Deployment of Wireline Services Offering Advanced Telecommunications Capability, CC Docket No. 98- 147, Memorandum Opinion and Order, DA 00- 2528 (Com. Car. Bur., Nov. 7, 2000) (Collocation Waiver Order). BellSouth states that if the Commission grants BellSouth’s waiver request, BellSouth will apply the application processing and provisioning intervals that the Collocation Waiver Order approved for Verizon and SBC to collocation requests arising in the three states in the BellSouth region in which the state commission has not prescribed collocation intervals. Interested parties may file comments regarding BellSouth petition for conditional waiver no later than December 28, 2000. We waive section 1.45 of the Commission’s rules insofar as it permits reply comments.
