 1.  In  the  above-  captioned  proceedings,  the  Commission  addressed  applications  filed  by  BellSouth  and  Bell  Atlantic  to  provide  in-  region,  interLATA  services  pursuant  to  section  271  of 
 the  Telecommunications  Act  of  1996.  The  Commission  released  orders  either  denying  or  granting  those  applications.  1  In  addition,  the  Commission  denied  a  petition  for  reconsideration  of  the
