 By  the  Accounting  Policy  Division,  Common  Carrier  Bureau: 
 1.  The  Accounting  Policy  Division  (Division)  has  under  consideration  a  Request  for 
 Review  filed  by  Weskan  Unified  School  District  #242  (Weskan),  Weskan,  Kansas,  requesting 
 review  of  a  decision  by  the  Schools  and  Libraries  Division  (SLD)  of  the  Universal  Service 
 Administrative  Company.  1  Weskan  seeks  review  of  SLD’s  denial  of  its  service  change  request.  2 
 Weskan  seeks  to  reduce  the  service  being  funded,  a  256Kb  internet  access  line,  to  a  slower  128K 
 access  line,  because  the  costs  of  the  256K  line  were  raised  by  the  provider  post-  approval, 
 allegedly  due  to  cost-  factors  beyond  the  service  provider’s  control.  3 


 2.  The  Division  has  learned  from  SLD  personnel  that  on  April  30,  2001,  SLD 
 reconsidered  its  earlier  denial  and  granted  Weskan’s  request,  mailing  the  decision  to  both 
 Weskan  and  the  service  provider.  Because  the  Division  finds  that  the  errors  asserted  by  Weskan 
 in  its  Request  for  Review  have  been  corrected  by  SLD,  the  Division  dismisses  the  Request  for 
 Review  as  moot.
