 WIRELESS  TELECOMMUNICATIONS  BUREAU  GRANTS  EIGHT  700  MHz  GUARD  BANDS  LICENSES

 On  April  18,  2001,  the  Wireless  Telecommunications  Bureau  announced  that  it  was  prepared  to  grant  applications  for  eight  (8)  licenses  to  winning  bidders  in  the  700  MHz  Guard  Bands  Auction 
 (Auction  38),  provided  that  each  applicant  made  full  and  timely  payment  of  the  remaining  balance  of  its  winning  bid.  1  The  final  payment  deadline  was  May  16,  2001.  2 


 The  Commission  received  full  and  timely  payment,  as  required  by  Section  1.2109(  a)  of  the  Commission’s  rules,  for  eight  (8)  licenses.  Accordingly,  by  this  Public  Notice,  we  announce  the  grant  of 
 the  eight  (8)  700  MHz  Guard  Bands  licenses  listed  in  Attachment  A.  We  grant  these  licenses  pursuant  to  Section  309(  a)  of  the  Communications  Act  of  1934,  as  amended,  47  U.  S.  C.  §  309(  a),  and  Section  0.331 
 of  the  Commission's  Rules,  47  C.  F.  R.  §  0.331,  because  it  will  serve  the  public  interest,  convenience  and  necessity. 


 This  Public  Notice  contains  the  following  Attachments:
