 Wireless  Telecommunications  Bureau  (WTB)  to  Conduct 
 Universal  Licensing  System  (ULS)  Interactive  Demonstrations  August  1,  2001,  in  Washington,  DC 


 Demonstrations  Scheduled  on  Application/  License  Search  and 
 Microwave/  Land  Mobile  Filing  (08/  01/  01). 


 The  Federal  Communications  Commission’s  (FCC’s)  WTB  will  conduct  interactive 
 demonstrations  of  ULS  at  its  Washington,  DC  headquarters  on  Wednesday,  August  1,  2001. 
 WTB  seeks  comments  and  suggestions  from  those  individuals  who  are  interested  in  attending 
 these  demonstrations  to  coordinate  and  to  design  future  events  more  effectively. 


 WTB  will  hold  the  demonstrations  at  FCC  headquarters  in  Washington,  DC,  in  the 
 ITC  Training  Room  on  the  Twelfth  Street  level  (main  entrance  level)  of  the  Portals  building 
 at  445  12  th  Street,  S.  W. 


 The  topic  of  the  August  1,  2001,  demonstration  will  be: 
 Morning  session:  ULS  Application/  License  Search,  from  10  a.  m.  until  noon. 
 Afternoon  session:  ULS  Microwave/  Land  Mobile  Filing,  from  1  p.  m.  until  4  p.  m. 
 WTB  has  chosen  these  topics  based  on  comments  from  previous  demonstrations  and 
 will  add,  delete,  or  modify  future  demonstrations  as  participant  interest  dictates.  Please  let  us 
 know  of  your  interests  and  training  needs;  contact  information  below. 


 All  wireless  services  now  have  been  deployed  to  ULS.  The  ULS  database  contains 
 two  million  licenses;  the  system  processes  several  hundred  thousand  applications  per  year. 
 The  system  also  makes  available  on  the  Web  a  wide  variety  of  information  about  wireless 
 licenses  and  applications.  Enhancements  are  being  added  and  some  displays  and  features  are 
 being  redesigned  as  time  goes  on;  future  trainings  will  cover  aspects  of  these  upgrades.

 first-  come,  first-  serve  basis.  In  the  past,  registrations  have  filled  up  very  quickly.  If  you  do 
 register  and  then  cannot  come,  please  notify  us  so  we  can  assign  your  seat  to  someone  else.
