 FCC  ENCOURAGES  COMMENT  ON  NTIA  PROPOSED  REIMBURSEMENT  RULES 
 By  this  Public  Notice,  the  Commission  is  fulfilling  its  obligation  of  ET  Docket  No.  00-  221  1  to  alert 
 licensees  and  potential  licensees  of  the  release  by  the  National  Telecommunications  and  Information 
 Administration  (NTIA)  of  proposed  reimbursement  rules  for  frequency  band  or  geographic  relocation  of 
 Federal  spectrum-  dependent  systems.  2  This  Notice  of  Proposed  Rule  Making  is  a  companion  to  ET 
 Docket  No.  00-  221  which  proposes  various  allocations  for  27  MHz  of  spectrum  being  transferred  from 
 Government  to  non-  Government  use.  Such  reimbursement  is  authorized  pursuant  to  the  Strom  Thurmond 
 National  Defense  Authorization  Act  for  FY  1999.  3 


 The  proposed  rules  are  available  on  the  internet  at 
 http://  www.  ntia.  doc.  gov/  osmhome/  reports/  manreimb11701.htm.  The  Commission  encourages  interested 
 parties  to  file  comments  with  NTIA.  Interested  parties  who  want  these  comments  to  be  considered  by  the 
 Commission,  may  also  file  these  comments  in  the  Docket  for  ET  Docket  No.  00-  221.
