C. 20554 DA 01- 1896 August 14, 2001 WIRELESS TELECOM ACTION REGION 42 (VIRGINIA) PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEES ANNOUNCES FIRST REGION 42 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING MEETING AND REGION 42 800 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING MEETING (PR DOCKET NO. 91- 300) The Region 42 (Virginia) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee and the Region 42 (Virginia) 800 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announce that consecutive meetings will be held on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Tanglewood, located at 4468 Starkey Road, Roanoke, Virginia. The first meeting of the Region 42 (Virginia) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting will convene at 2: 00 p. m. The purposes of the meeting are to: 1. Establish a Region 42 700 MHz Regional Planning Committee, 2. Elect initial officers, 3. Discuss Virginia’s “opt out” options, see Public Safety 700 MHz Band General Use Spectrum Deadline for Changing Regional Boundaries is July 2, 2001, Public Notice, 16 FCC Rcd 726 (WTB PSPWD 2001), 1 available on line at: http:// www. fcc. gov/ Bureaus/ Wireless/ Public_ Notices/ 2001/ da010058.txt, 4. Review Regional Planning Committee 800 MHz plan and discuss 700 MHz planning options, and 5. Outline/ review essential duties. The Region 42 (Virginia) 800 Mhz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting will convene immediately following the adjournment of the Region 42 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting. The purpose of the meeting is to review the 800 MHz spectrum use requests currently before the committee. Both of the Region 42 Public Safety Planning Committee meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers in Virginia may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that participants be representatives of all eligible public safety providers in order to ensure that your agencies’ future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process.
