(“ Nextel”) have filed the following application under Section 310( d) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 1 seeking Commission approval to assign 188 licenses from Pacific Wireless to Nextel. 2 The majority of these licenses are licensed in the Specialized Mobile Radio (“ SMR”) service. Some are licensed to the Business or Industrial/ Land Transportation service, and these licenses are in the process of being converted to the SMR service.
