Under rules recently adopted by the Commission, entities doing business with the FCC will be required, effective December 3, 2001, to provide an FRN with all applications or feeable filings as well as other transactions involving the payment of money (MD Docket No. 00- 205). The forum will be held in the Commission Meeting Room at 445 12 th Street, SW, Washington, DC. CORES is a registration system that allows entities doing business with the FCC to obtain a unique 10- digit number over the Internet. The FRN will be used by all Commission systems that handle financial, authorization of service, and enforcement activities. The FRN will help the Commission more effectively collect regulatory and application fees; track enforcement of fines and forfeitures; monitor and collect penalties; and manage the grant of waivers and exemptions. You can obtain an FRN on- line or get further information about CORES by visiting the FCC’s web site at www. fcc. gov and clicking on the Commission Registration System registration link. You may also obtain an FRN manually by completing and filing a FCC Form 160 (CORES Registration). Mailing instructions are found on Form 160 or you can fax the form to (202) 418- 2869. If you were registered in the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau’s Universal Licensing System (ULS) prior to June 22, 2000, you have automatically received a CORES registration number by mail.
