C. 20554 DA 01- 2217 News media information 202/ 418- 0500 Fax- On- Demand 202/ 418- 2830 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov ftp. fcc. gov Released: September 21, 2001 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU GRANTS THREE C AND F BLOCK BROADBAND PERSONAL COMMUNICATIONS SERVICES (PCS) LICENSES Auction Event No. 35 Report No. AUC- 35 (Auction No. 35) On August 22, 2001, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announced that it was prepared to grant applications for four (4) licenses to winning bidders in the C and F Block Broadband Personal Communications Services (PCS) Auction (Auction No. 35), provided that each applicant made full and timely payment of the remaining balance of its winning bid( s). 1 The payment deadline was September 6, 2001. 2 The Commission received full and timely payment, as required by section 1.2109( a) of the Commission’s rules, for two (2) licenses by that date. 3 The applicant for a third license failed to pay the balance of his winning bid in a lump sum by September 6, 2001, and was required to pay the remaining balance, plus a late fee equal to five percent of the amount due, by September 20, 2001. 4 The Commission received full and timely payment plus the five- percent late fee, as required by section 1.2109( a) of the Commission’s rules, for that license. 1 See Wireless Telecommunications Bureau Announces It is Prepared to Grant Four C and F Block Broadband Personal Communications Services (PCS) Licenses Upon Full and Timely Payment, Public Notice, DA 01- 1887 (rel.
