 IN  THE  LOWER  80  CHANNELS  AUCTION

 On  February  14,  2001,  the  Wireless  Telecommunications  Bureau  announced  that  it  was  prepared  to  grant  applications  for  2,785  licenses  to  the  winners  of  the  800  MHz  Specialized  Mobile  Radio  (SMR) 
 Service  Frequencies  in  the  Lower  80  Channels  (Auction  36),  provided  that  each  applicant  made  its  final  payment  before  the  deadlines  established  by  the  Commission.  1  The  final  payment  deadline  was  March 
 15,  2001.  2 
 Final  payment  was  received  for  2,785  licenses  by  the  final  payment  deadline.  Accordingly,  by  this  Public  Notice  we  announce  the  grant  of  the  800  MHz  Specialized  Mobile  Radio  (SMR)  Service 
 Frequencies  in  the  Lower  80  Channels  licenses  listed  in  Attachment  A.  We  grant  these  licenses  pursuant  to  Section  309(  a)  of  the  Communications  Act  of  1934,  as  amended,  47  U.  S.  C.  §  309(  a),  and  Section  0.331 
 of  the  Commission's  Rules,  47  C.  F.  R.  §  0.331,  because  it  will  serve  the  public  interest,  convenience,  and  necessity.
