 ACCCOUNTING  SAFEGUARDS  DIVISION  ANNOUNCES  PUBLIC  MEETING  TO  DISCUSS 
 POLICIES  AND  PROCEDURES  FOR  INDEPENDENT  AUDITS 


 The  Accounting  Safeguards  Division  of  the  Common  Carrier  Bureau  (“  the  Bureau”)  announces  that  it  will 
 hold  a  public  meeting  from  1:  00  to  2:  30  PM  on  Tuesday,  April  10,  2001  concerning  the  Bureau’s  policies 
 and  procedures  for  independent  audits  used  to  evaluate  compliance  with  the  Commission’s  rules.  At  the 
 meeting,  the  Accounting  Safeguards  Division  will  discuss  future  plans  related  to  the  Bureau’s  independent 
 audit  program  and  solicit  input  on  improving  the  overall  effectiveness  of  the  independent  audits. 


 The  meeting  will  be  held  in  the  south  conference  room,  Room  6-  B516,  of  the  sixth  floor  of  the 
 Commission’s  office  building,  445  12  th  Street,  S.  W.,  Washington,  DC.
