C. 20554 In the Matter of Nondiscrimination in the Distribution of Interactive Television Services Over Cable ) ) ) ) ) CS Docket No. 01- 7 ORDER EXTENDING TIME TO FILE REPLY COMMENTS Adopted: April 9, 2001 Released: April 10, 2001 By the Chief, Cable Services Bureau: 1. A Notice of Inquiry (NOI) in the above captioned proceeding was adopted on January 12, 2001 (66 FR 7913). The NOI indicated that comments and reply comments were due on March 19, 2001, and April 20, 2001, respectively. On April 5, 2001, the Media Access Project (MAP) filed a request to extend the reply comment date to May 21, 2001. MAP states that an extension is necessary to provide sufficient time to analyze the voluminous and complex comments filed in response to the NOI. MAP also notes that the Easter and Passover holidays fall soon before the current reply comment deadline. 2. The Commission does not routinely grant extensions of time. However, we recognize that the subject matter in question is relatively complex, and we believe that a short extension of the reply comment period will enable interested parties to more fully analyze the information submitted in the comments. Accordingly, we will designate May 11, 2001, as the date reply comments are due. 3. Accordingly, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to Section 1.46 of the Commission's rules, 47 C. F. R. Section 1.46, that the request for extension of time to file reply comments filed by the Media Access Project IS GRANTED IN PART. 4. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the deadline for filing reply comments in this proceeding IS EXTENDED until May 11, 2001. 5. This action is taken pursuant to the authority found in Sections 4( i) and 303( r) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U. S. C. §§ 154( i) and 303( r), and Sections 0.204( b), 0.321, and 1.46 of the Commission's Rules, 47 C. F. R. §§ 0. 204( b), 0.321, and 1.46. FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION Deborah A.
