C. 20554 DA 01- 91 WIRELESS TELECOM ACTION January 16, 2001 THE NEW ENGLAND AREA (REGION 19) PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENTS TO ITS PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GENERAL DOCKET NO. 90- 53) By this Public Notice, the Commission announces that the New England Area (Region 19) Radio Planning Committee's proposal to amend the Region 19 Public Safety Regional Plan is approved. The amendment, which revises the current channel allotments for radio frequencies in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands within the New England area, reflects changes made as a result of its seventh window application process. In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands. 1 The Region 19 Plan was originally adopted by the Commission on April 26, 1990. 2 The Region 19 Plan was subsequently revised by letter on July 17, 1992, February 28, 1995, and October 30, 1996, and by public notice on March 21, 1997, February 8, 1999, February 8, 2000, and September 28, 2000. On November 7, 2000, the Commission issued a Public Notice (DA 00- 2520) inviting interested parties to file comments regarding a proposed amendment to the Region 19 Plan that was filed with the Commission on September 14, 2000. We have reviewed the Region 19 request, which modifies the Region’s frequency allocation tables to provide new assignments for the Connecticut State Police, Berkshire County (Massachusetts) Sheriffs and the Hyanis (Massachusetts) Fire Department. Further, we received no comments in response to the Public Notice of November 7, 2000. The amendment is, therefore, accepted and approved as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 19 Plan in the official docket file where it will remain available to the public.
