C. 20554 DA 02- 1061 May 7, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 37 (SOUTH CAROLINA) 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST MEETING The Region 37 (South Carolina) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee Convener announces that the initial meeting of Region 37 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will be held on July 17, 2002 at 10: 00 a. m., at the South Carolina DHEC Building, 2600 Bull Street, 3 rd Floor, Peeples Auditorium, Columbia, South Carolina. The purposes of the meeting are to: 1. Begin the formation of a coordinated regional plan for Region 37, 2. Review the rules of the 700 MHz band, 3. Establish a committee to develop the 700 MHz Regional Plan, and 4. Select a temporary Chairman for the development of the Regional Plan. The Region 37 (South Carolina) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 37 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band are encouraged to attend.
