 WIRELESS  TELECOMMUNICATIONS  BUREAU  APPROVES  WITHDRAWAL  OF 
 PETITION  FOR  FORBEARANCE  OR  REQUEST  FOR  WAIVER 


 On  September  13,  2001,  Nextel  Communications,  Inc.,  on  behalf  of  its  wholly-  owned  subsidiaries  (collectively,  Nextel),  filed  a  Petition  for  Forbearance  or  Request  for  Waiver 
 (Petition)  of  Section  90.175  of  the  Commission’s  rules  concerning  the  800  MHz  SMR  General  Category  pool.  On  January  8,  2002,  Nextel  filed  a  request  to  withdraw  its  Petition.  1 


 The  Policy  and  Rules  Branch  of  the  Commercial  Wireless  Division  has  reviewed  and  hereby  approves  Nextel’s  request  to  withdraw  its  Petition.
