C. 20554 DA 02- 115 January 17, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES THIRD MEETING By this notice, the Region 5 (Southern California) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announces that its third meeting will be held on March 13, 2002 from 10: 00 a. m. to 12: 00 noon at Orange County Communications, 840 N. Eckhoff St., Suite 104, Orange CA 92868- 1021. The purpose of the meeting is to continue the allocation planning process of the 700 MHz spectrum for public safety in Region 5, and the agenda includes: 1. Nominations and voting for Vice- chairperson and Secretary of the committee, and 2. Vote on approval of the draft plan. All eligible public safety providers in Region 5 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band should plan to attend.
