 WIRELESS  TELECOMMUNICATIONS  BUREAU  ANNOUNCES  CELLULAR  WEBSITE  REDESIGN 


 The  Federal  Communications  Commission’s  Wireless  Telecommunications  Bureau  announces  the  redesign  of  its  Cellular  Radiotelephone  (Cellular)  service  website  located  at  the  URL 
 <http://  wireless.  fcc.  gov/  services/  cellular/>.  The  new  site  employs  the  retooled  navigational  structure  and  layout  designed  to  improve  usability  for  all  bureau  service  websites.  The  design  used  for  the  website 
 emphasizes  and  better  organizes  the  information  most  frequently  sought  by  cellular  licensees  and  members  of  the  general  public  interested  in  cellular  issues.  Site  visitors  will  find  quick  and  easy  access 
 to: 
 €  Consolidated  Data  Resources  –  including  service  coverage  maps,  market  area  maps  and  cross  references,  annual  Commercial  Mobile  Radio  Services  (CMRS)  Competition  Reports,  and 
 bandplan  information. 
 €  Licensing  Process  Details  –  a  step-  by-  step  summary,  filing  procedures,  FCC  rules  and  requirements,  and  current  methods  for  obtaining  spectrum. 


 €  Spectrum  Auction  Recaps  and  Updates  –  listings  of  cellular  auctions  and  links  to  historical  auction  data,  including  winning  bidders. 
 €  Operational  Information  –  technology  overviews,  operational  issues,  and  consumer  information  on  fraud,  blocking,  jamming,  and  tips  for  finding  service  providers. 
 €  Part  22  Review  –  a  summary  of  the  Commission's  pending  proceeding  to  amend  Part  22  to  modify  or  eliminate  regulations  that  have  become  outdated  as  a  result  of  technological  change, 
 increased  competition  in  the  CMRS,  supervening  changes  to  related  Commission  rules,  or  a  combination  of  these  factors. 


 Also,  for  user  convenience,  the  bureau  compiles,  lists,  and  provides  access  to  recent  official  FCC  documents  related  to  cellular  rules  and  licensing  on  a  releases  page. 
 The  redesign  is  part  of  the  bureau’s  continuing  effort  to  enhance  web-  based  services  for  the  public.
