The petitioners request additional time “to complete and submit a compromise proposal to the Commission” 1 which they represent will assist the Commission in its decision making in this proceeding. 2 2. It is the policy of the Commission that extensions of time are not routinely granted. 3 Moreover, we note that we previously denied a request for a 90 day extension, filed by ITA, but granted a 34 day extension of time from the original June 4, 2002, reply comment filing date. 4 However, we are encouraged by the prospect of an industry- wide compromise position on the major issues in the instant proceeding. Accordingly, in reliance on petitioners’ representation that they will actively pursue a compromise that is acceptable to as wide a cross- section of affected parties as possible, and in the interest of building a complete record, we are granting the petition and are extending the reply comment filing date to August 7, 2002. 1 Request at 2. 2 Id. 3 See 47 C.
