C. 20554 DA 02- 1855 July 31, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 11 (HAWAII) 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST MEETING The Region 11 (Hawaii) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee Convener announces that the initial meeting of Region 11 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will be held on September 18, 2002 at 9: 00 a. m., at the Keoni Ana Building Video Conference Center, 3 rd Floor, 1177 Alakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii. The meeting of the Region 11 (Hawaii) 700 MHz National Public Safety Planning Advisory Committee will convene at 9: 00 a. m. The agenda for this meeting includes: € Review the FCC Rules for the 700 MHz Band, € Review the work of the Public Safety National Coordination Committee and review plan elements, € Establish a Regional Planning Committee and procedural rules, € Elect a Chairperson, and € Form workgroups to develop the Regional Plan. The meeting will be broadcast to all other State owned Video Conference Center (VCCs) to facilitate neighboring county participation. The State owned VCCs are located as follows: Hawaii: . The Region 11 (Hawaii) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 11 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band are encouraged to attend.
