C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 02- 1880 Released August 1, 2002 CHANGES TO PARTS 43 AND 63 TO BE EFFECTIVE AUGUST 8, 2002 IB Docket No. 00- 231 On June 10, 2002, the Commission released a Report and Order in IB Docket 00- 231 adopting a number of amendments to Parts 43 and 63 of the Commission’s rules, as well as changes to Commission policy. 1 The Report and Order was published in the Federal Register on July 9, 2002. 2 The amendments to the following rules and changes to Commission policy are effective on August 8, 2002 (30 days after publication in the Federal Register): € Section 43.81 is removed. € Section 63.09 Note 2 is revised € Section 63.10( e) is revised. € Section 63.22( b) is revised. € Section 63.53( b) is removed. € The settlement rate benchmark condition will no longer apply to section 214 authorizations to provide facilities- based international private line service. The other amendments to the rules and changes to Commission policy adopted in the Report and Order contain new or modified information collections or are contingent on changes to those rules with new or modified information collections. The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) reviews rule changes affecting information collections prior to their becoming effective. OMB has not yet completed its review of the rules adopted in the Report and Order. Once OMB completes its review, we will issue a notice stating the effective date for those amendments to the Commission’s rules and changes to Commission policy.
