 1.  In  response  to  a  petition  filed  by  Charles  Crawford  (“  Crawford”)  the  Commission  has  before  it 
 for  consideration  the  Notice  of  Proposed  Rule  Making,  16  FCC  Rcd  18778  (2001)  requesting  the 
 allotment  of  Channel  241A  at  Birch  Tree,  Missouri.  Neither  Crawford  nor  any  other  party  filed 
 comments  in  response  to  the  Notice. 


 2.  As  stated  In  the  Notice,  a  showing  of  continuing  interest  is  required  before  a  channel  will  be 
 allotted.  It  is  the  Commission's  policy  to  refrain  from  making  an  allotment  to  a  community  absent  an 
 expression  of  interest.  Therefore,  since  no  such  continuing  interest  has  been  expressed  for  an 
 allotment  at  Birch  Tree,  we  will  dismiss  Crawford’s  proposal. 


 3.  In  view  of  the  above,  IT  IS  ORDERED,  That  the  Petition  for  Rule  Making  filed  by  Charles 
 Crawford  (RM-  10306),  requesting  the  allotment  of  Channel  241A  at  Birch  Tree,  Missouri,  IS 
 DISMISSED. 


 4.  IT  IS  FURTHER  ORDERED,  That  this  proceeding  IS  TERMINATED.
