C. 20554 DA 02- 277 February 7, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION THE NEW ENGLAND AREA (REGION 19) PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENTS TO ITS PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GENERAL DOCKET NO. 90- 53) By this Public Notice, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announces that the New England Area (Region 19) 1 Radio Planning Committee's proposal to amend the Region 19 Public Safety Regional Plan is approved. On September 20, 2001, Region 19 filed an amendment, which revises the current channel allotments for radio frequencies in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands within the New England area, and reflects changes made as a result of its Eighth Window application process. 2 In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands. 3 The Region 19 Plan, which was originally adopted by the Commission on April 26, 1990, 4 has been amended several times in the last eleven years. 5 On October 2, 2001, the Bureau issued a Public 1 Region 19 includes Connecticut (except Fairfield, Litchfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties), Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. 2 See New England Radio Planning Committee letter and amendment dated Sept. 10, 2001 was filed by George J. Further, we received no comments in response to the Public Notice of October 2, 2001. The amendment is, therefore, accepted and approved as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 19 Plan in the official docket file where it will remain available to the public.
