C. 20554 DA 02- 467 February 28, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION THE PHILADELPHIA METROPOLITAN AREA (REGION 28) RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENTS TO ITS PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GENERAL DOCKET NO. 89- 573) By this Public Notice, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announces that the Philadelphia Metropolitan Area (Region 28) 1 Radio Planning Committee's proposal to amend the Region 28 Public Safety Regional Plan is approved. On September 13, 2001, Region 28 filed an amendment, which revises the current channel allotments for radio frequencies in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands within the Philadelphia Metropolitan area, and reflects changes made as a result of its Filing Window 6B assignments. 2 In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands. 3 The Region 28 Plan was originally adopted by the Commission on February 2, 1990, 4 and was subsequently amended by Public 1 Region 28 includes Eastern Pennsylvania, Southern New Jersey and Delaware. 2 See Region 28 Radio Planning Committee letter and amendment dated Sept. 12, 2001, filed by Richard R. Filing Window 6B includes those applications whose interfering contours extended beyond the Region 28 boundaries for which Region 28 requested and received letters of concurrence from adjacent Regions 8, 20, and 36. In addition, Region 28 stated that no response was received from Regions 30 (New York - Albany) and 55 (New York – Buffalo), as there was no impact to their Regions from any of the Filing Window 6B assignments. Further, we received no comments in response to the Public Notice of October 16, 2001. The amendment therefore, is accepted and approved as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 28 Plan in the official docket file where it will remain available to the public.
