On December 22, 2000, Citizens Telecommunications Company of Montana and Qwest Corporation filed the above- captioned Joint Petition for Expedited Waiver of the definition of “study area” contained in Part 36 Appendix- Glossary of the Commission’s rules. 1 In the petition, the parties sought to delete ten exchanges from Qwest Corporation’s Montana and North Dakota study areas and to establish a new study area for Citizens Telecommunication Company of Montana consisting of these exchanges. On August 9, 2001, Qwest Corporation submitted a request to withdraw the above- captioned petition. 2 We grant the request to withdraw and dismiss the petition. 2.
