C. 20554 DA 02- 531 March 6, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 9 (FLORIDA) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES PLANNING MEETING The Region 9 (Florida) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announces that a planning meeting will be held on Monday, May 6, 2002 at 1: 00 p. m. at The Radisson Resort at the Port, 8701 Astronaut Boulevard, Cape Canaveral, Florida. The agenda for this meeting will be: 1. Status Report on the Development of a Regional Technical Plan, 2. Update of Frequency Availability, and 3. Update on Vendors and Equipment Availability The Region 9 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Florida would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 9 should plan to attend.
