C. 20554 DA 02- 651 March 20, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 55 (NEW YORK - BUFFALO) 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST MEETING The Region 55 (New York - Buffalo) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announces that its first meeting will be held on Monday, May 20, 2002 at 9: 30 a. m. at the Erie County Fire Training Center, 3359 Broadway, Cheektowaga, New York. Region 55 includes the Counties of Allegany, Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Chemung, Erie, Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Niagara, Ontario, Orleans, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Wayne, Wyoming and Yates, in the State of New York. The purpose of the meeting is to: 1. Establish a 700 MHz Regional Planning Committee (RPC), 2. Elect a chairperson, 3. Create a RPC meeting schedule, 4. Review the RPC Committee Process, 5. Review 700 MHz band development to date, and 6. Review work of the FCC Public Safety National Coordination Committee (NCC). The Region 55 (New York – Buffalo) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in the New York – Buffalo area would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process.
