DOCKET NO. 92- 287) The Region 55 (Western Counties of Upstate New York) 1 800 Regional Plan Update Committee announces a filing window for submittal of radio channel allotment requests and license applications for radio frequencies in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz Band. 2 Region 55 is responsible for planning public safety radio frequency spectrum usage within the Western Counties of Upstate New York in accordance with the Public Safety National Plan. 3 The filing window for Region 55 applications opened on March 18, 2002 and will run through May 10, 2002, inclusive. Applicants must submit a signed application and provide an appropriate response to the 7 items of supplemental information listed on the reverse side of the application form. An engineering study is required. Radio signal coverage, and co- and adjacent- channel protection of incumbent channel allotments and licensed stations must comply with the Region 55 and other Regional Plans. An international agreement between the U. S. and Canada limits the availability of channels, power and antenna height in the Regional Plan area. Competing applications will be scored in accordance with the Region 55 Plan. There is no guarantee that suitable channels exist for any particular applicant, or that proposed channels might not be allotted to another applicant whose application received a higher score.
