C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 02- XXX Released: April 1, 2002 THE WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ANNOUNCES THE GRANT OF LICENSES TO OPERATE IN THE MULTIPLE ADDRESS SYSTEMS BANDS Auction No. 42 On March 8, 2002, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau announced that it was prepared to grant thirteen long- form applications (FCC Form 601) for licenses to operate in the Multiple Address Systems bands, provided that the applicants submit a final payment on the licenses by either the initial or late payment deadline. 1 The initial payment deadline of March 22, 2002, was met by twelve applicants. Accordingly, on March 28, 2002, we granted twelve long- form applications for licenses that are listed in the Attachment. We granted these licenses pursuant to Section 309( a) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 2 and Section 0.331 of the Commission’s Rules 3 because it will serve the public interest, convenience and necessity.
