C. 20554 DA 02- 877 April 16, 2002 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 15 (IOWA) 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST MEETING The Region 15 (Iowa) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee Convener announces that the initial meeting of Region 15 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee will be held on May 29, 2002 at 1: 00 p. m., at the Iowa State Patrol Post 1 Headquarters, Interstate 80 and Second Avenue, Des Moines, Iowa. The purposes of the meeting are to: 1. Elect a Chairperson 2. Election of Committee Officers 3. Conduct Overview of the 700 MHz Frequency Allocation The Region 15 (Iowa) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 15 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band are encouraged to attend.
