C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 03- 1100 Released: April 7, 2003 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU GRANTS UPPER AND LOWER PAGING BANDS LICENSES AUCTION EVENT NO. 40 Report No. AUC- 40 (Auction No. 40) On March 12, 2003, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau announced that it was prepared to grant applications for the licenses listed in Attachment A, to winning bidders of the Upper and Lower Paging Bands licenses (Auction No. 40), provided that each applicant made full and timely payment of the remaining balance of its winning bids. 1 The payment deadline was March 26, 2003. 2 The Commission received full and timely payment, as required by section 1.2109( a) of the Commission’s rules, 47 C. F. R § 1.2109( a), for the applications listed in Attachment A. Accordingly, by this Public Notice, we announce the grant of the Upper and Lower Paging Band licenses listed in Attachment A. We grant these licenses pursuant to Section 309( a) of the Communications Act of 1934, as amended, 47 U. S. C. § 309( a), and section 0.331 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C. F. R. § 0.331, because it will serve the public interest, convenience and necessity.
