 ANNOUNCES  THIRD  MEETING 
 The  Region  1  (Alabama)  700  MHz  Public  Safety  Planning  Committee  announces  that  its  third  meeting  will  be  held  on  Monday,  April  7,  2003,  at  1:  00  p.  m.  in  conjunction  with  the  Alabama 


 Chapter  Meeting  of  APCO  at  the  Beachside  Resort  Hotel,  931  Highway  182  West,  Gulf  Shores,  Alabama.  The  purpose  of  the  meeting  is  to 


 1.  Review  the  Region  1  700  MHz  Regional  Planning  subcommittees’  progress,  and  2.  Continue  the  allocation  planning  process  of  the  700  MHz  spectrum  for  public  safety 
 in  Region  1. 
 The  Region  1  700  MHz  Public  Safety  Planning  Committee  meeting  is  open  to  the  public.  All  eligible  public  safety  providers  in  Alabama  whose  sole  or  principal  purpose  is  to  protect  the 


 safety  of  life,  health,  or  property  in  Alabama  may  utilize  these  frequencies.  It  is  essential  that  not  only  public  safety,  but  all  government,  Native  American  Tribal,  and  non-  governmental 
 organizations  eligible  under  Section  90.523  of  the  Commission’s  Rules  be  represented  in  order  to  ensure  that  each  agency’s  future  spectrum  needs  are  considered  in  the  allocation  process. 
 Administrators  who  are  not  oriented  in  the  communications  field  should  delegate  someone  with  this  knowledge  to  attend,  participate  and  represent  your  agency’s  needs. 


 All  interested  parties  wishing  to  participate  in  the  planning  for  the  use  of  new  public  safety  spectrum  in  the  700  MHz  band  within  Region  1  should  plan  to  attend.  For  further  information
