C. 20554 DA 03- 200 January 24, 2003 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 54 (SOUTHERN LAKE MICHIGAN) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES EIGHTH PLANNING MEETING The Region 54 (Southern Lake Michigan) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announces that its eighth planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2003 at 1: 00 p. m. at the Chicago Emergency Communications Center, at 1411 W. Madison Street, Chicago, Illinois. The purpose of the meeting is to: 1. Discuss the CAPRAD 1 training received by frequency coordinators, 2. Review progress of subcommittees, and 3. Address any new business. The Region 54 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in the Southern Lake Michigan area, which is comprised of the Great Lakes area including Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana and Michigan, may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band within Region 54 should plan to attend.
