 SUPPORT  AND  THE  ETC  DESIGNATION  PROCESS

 The  Federal-  State  Joint  Board  on  Universal  Service  (the  Joint  Board)  will  hold  an  en  banc  hearing  on  Thursday,  July  31,  2003,  in  Denver,  Colorado.  The  Joint  Board  will  discuss  the 
 Commission’s  rules  relating  to  the  basis  of  high-  cost  universal  service  support  in  competitive  areas,  the  scope  of  support,  and  the  eligible  telecommunications  carrier  (ETC)  designation 
 process.  1  Panelists  representing  a  broad  range  of  interests  will  discuss  their  positions  and  respond  to  questions  from  the  Joint  Board  members. 


 The  hearing  will  be  held  from  9:  00  a.  m.  –  to  3:  15  p.  m.  at  the  Denver  Marriott  City  Center,  1701  California  Street,  Denver,  Colorado  80202.  The  agenda  for  the  hearing  and  a  list  of 
 panelists  are  attached.  The  hearing  is  open  to  the  public  and  seating  will  be  available  on  a  first-come,  first-  served  basis.
