W., Washington, D. C. Presentations will be made by Susan Spradley, President, Wireline Networks and Alan Stoddard, General Manager, Carrier Next Generation Networks of Nortel Networks. The subjects to be discussed include an overview of IP telephony which will include how digital telephony has evolved form circuit based to packet based switching, the routing of information through the packet network, provision of voice and IP communication services on a single data network, network engineering rules and parameters, various transition models to IP telephony. This tutorial will conclude with a discussion of how business models for service providers and end users must transition as well. There will be a question and answer session after the presentations have been completed. The public is invited to attend, no reservations are necessary.
