C. 20554 DA 03- 2869 September 11, 2003 WIRELESS TELECOMUNICATIONS BUREAU REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA 700 MHz REGIONAL PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FIRST PUBLIC SAFETY 4.9 GHz BAND MEETING The Region 5 (Southern California) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee announces that its first 4.9 GHz Band planning meeting will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2003 at 10: 00 a. m., at the County of San Bernardino, Network Services, 777 E. Rialto Avenue. San Bernardino, California. The purposes of the meeting are to: 1. Establish a work plan for completing the regional plan, 2. Update participants on 4.9 GHz rulemakings, 3. Formulate working groups, 4. Review public input, and 5. Set future meeting schedules. The Region 5 (Southern California) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee 4.9 GHz planning meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 5 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs.
