C. 20554 DA 03- 334 January 31, 2003 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 5 (SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA) 700 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES FOURTH MEETING By this notice, the Region 5 (Southern California) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee announces that its fourth meeting will be held on April 16, 2003 from 10: 00 a. m. at Orange County Communications, 840 N. Eckhoff St., Suite 104, Orange, CA 92668- 1021. The purpose of the meeting is to: 1. Elect a new Secretary, 2. Review FCC letter dated December 30, 2002, 3. Request input from Indian Tribes, 4. Review and approve inter- region agreements, and 5. Solicit public comment on regional planning process. All eligible public safety providers in Region 5 may utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent their agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band should plan to attend.
