In support of its on- going Regional planning efforts, the Region 11 (Hawaii) 700 MHz Public Safety Regional Planning Committee has arranged for a trainer from the National Public Safety Telecommunications Council to travel to Hawaii to provide training on the Computer Assisted Pre- coordination Resource and Database system (CAPRAD). CAPRAD training will occur in Honolulu on Tuesday through Thursday, February 10 th through 12 th , 2004. Class size is limited. Interested parties should contact their voting representative on the Committee for details on how to be included in training. Committee funding will be used to assist neighbor island members with travel to Honolulu to participate in the training. The Region 11 (Hawaii) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meeting is open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Region 11 would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non-governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process. Administrators who are not oriented in the communications field should delegate someone with this knowledge to attend, participate and represent your agency’s needs. All interested parties wishing to participate in the planning for the use of new public safety spectrum in the 700 MHz band and 4.9 GHz band within Region 11 are encouraged to attend.
