 WIRELESS  TELECOMMUNICATIONS  BUREAU  ANNOUNCES  NEW  LOWER  700  MHZ  BAND  SERVICE  WEBSITE 


 The  Federal  Communications  Commission’s  Wireless  Telecommunications  Bureau  announces  the  creation  of  the  Lower  700  MHz  Band  service  website  located  at  the  URL 
 <http://  wireless.  fcc.  gov/  services/  lower700/>.  The  Lower  700  MHz  Band  service  permits  licensees  to  provide  fixed,  mobile,  and  broadcast  services  in  the  reallocated  the  698-  746  MHz 
 spectrum  band  that  had  been  previously  allocated  to  television  Channels  52-  59. 
 The  new  website  for  the  Lower  700  MHz  Band  service  employs  the  retooled  navigational  structure  designed  to  improve  usability  for  all  bureau  service  websites.  Its  layout  emphasizes  the 
 information  most  frequently  sought  by  licensees  and  members  of  the  general  public  interested  in  Lower  700  MHz  Band  service  issues.  Visitors  will  find  quick  and  easy  access  to: 


 €  Consolidated  Data  Resources  –  including  Lower  700  MHz  Band  market  area  maps,  bandplans,  and  the  annual  Commercial  Mobile  Radio  Services  (CMRS)  Competition 
 Reports. 
 €  Licensing  Process  Details  –  a  step-  by-  step  summary,  FCC  rules,  performance  requirements,  and  current  methods  for  obtaining  spectrum. 


 €  Spectrum  Auction  Recaps  and  Updates  –  a  summary  of  the  recent  Lower  700  MHz  Band  auction  (Auction  No.  44)  with  links  to  the  auction  data,  including  winning  bidders. 
 €  Related  Releases  –  Lower  700  MHz  Band  proceeding  documents  and  other  official  FCC  releases  related  to  the  service. 
 The  creation  of  this  new  website  is  part  of  the  bureau’s  continuing  effort  to  enhance  web-  based  services  for  the  public.
