C. 20554 DA 03- 596 February 27, 2003 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION THE NEW ENGLAND AREA (REGION 19) PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN RECEIVES APPROVAL FOR MINOR AMENDMENTS TO ITS 800 MHz PUBLIC SAFETY PLAN (GENERAL DOCKET NO. 90- 53) By this Public Notice, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau (Bureau) announces that the New England Area (Region 19) 1 Radio Planning Committee's proposals to amend the Region 19 800 MHz Public Safety Regional Plan are approved. On October 17, 2002, Region 19 filed amendments which revise the current channel allotments for radio frequencies in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands within the New England area, and reflect changes made as a result of its Ninth and Tenth Window application processes. 2 In accordance with the National Public Safety Plan, each region is responsible for planning its use of public safety radio frequency spectrum in the 821- 824/ 866- 869 MHz bands. 3 The Region 19 Plan, which was originally adopted by the Commission on April 26, 1990, 4 has 1 Region 19 includes Connecticut (except Fairfield, Litchfield, New Haven and Middlesex counties), Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont. 2 See New England Radio Planning Committee letters and amendments dated Oct. 7, 2002 and October 8, 2002, both filed by George J. The Tenth Window amendments modify the Region’s frequency allocation tables to provide new assignments for the Westfield, Massachusetts Police Department; South Hadley, Massachusetts Police Department; Massachusetts Fire Services; and Dayville, Connecticut Fire District. We have reviewed the Region 19 requests. Further, we received no comments in response to the Public Notice of November 14, 2002. The amendment is, therefore, accepted and approved as submitted. The Secretary's office will place the amended Region 19 Plan in the official docket file where it will remain available to the public.
