The day- long event will be open to the public. Date and Time: May 19, 2004 9: 30 a. m. – 5: 00 p. m Location: Federal Communications Commission Commission Meeting Room 445 12 th Street, SW Washington, D. C. 20554 Because of its ability to cover wide geographic areas efficiently, wireless technology not only has the potential to become the third broadband pipe into homes, but is beginning to provide innovative and high-speed broadband services to mobile consumers. The Forum will examine the technological, economic, and regulatory factors that influence the availability and deployment of wireless broadband services. The event will provide an opportunity for wireless broadband business, technology, and regulatory experts to share their knowledge, experiences, and views on the future of the industry. Speakers will include both fixed and mobile service providers, and manufacturers developing new technologies for both the licensed and unlicensed bands. A preliminary agenda of the event is attached. In addition to the panels, the Forum will feature a Demonstration Room where attendees can view, learn about, and interact with innovative wireless broadband devices and equipment being developed by the industry. Webcast and Video Audio/ Video coverage of the meeting will be broadcast live over the Internet from the FCC’s Audio/ Video Events web page at www. fcc. gov/ realaudio.
