C. 20554 News Media Information 202 / 418- 0500 Internet: http:// www. fcc. gov TTY: 1- 888- 835- 5322 DA 04 - 1297 Released: May 11, 2004 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU GRANTS SPECIALIZED MOBILE RADIO SERVICE 900 MHz LICENSES AUCTION EVENT NO. 55 Report No. AUC- 55 (Auction No. 55) On February 25, 2004, the Federal Communications Commission completed the auction of 55 Specialized Mobile Radio (“ SMR”) service licenses in the 896- 901 MHz and 935- 940 MHz bands (“ Auction No. 55”). 1 On April 1, 2004, the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau announced that, based upon a preliminary review of the long- form applications, it was accepting for filing the applications for winning bidders in Auction No. 55. 2 Upon further review and examination, the applications listed in Attachment A have been found to be complete and in conformance with the Commission’s rules. Furthermore, the Commission has received full and timely payment, as required by section 1.2109( a) of the Commission’s rules, for the applications listed in Attachment A. 3 Accordingly, by this Public Notice we announce the grant of the SMR 900 MHz Band applications listed in Attachment A. We grant these licenses pursuant to Section 309( a) of the Communications Act, 47 U. S. C. § 309( a), and Section 0.331 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C. F. R. § 0.331, because it will service the public interest, convenience and necessity. This Public Notice contains the following Attachments: Attachment A: List of Applications the Wireless Telecommunications Bureau is Granting Attachment B: Instructions for Searching for the Applications Listed in Attachment A Using ULS.
