 FCC  BEGINS  EEO  AUDITS 
 On  May  28,  2004,  the  Federal  Communications  Commission  (FCC)  began  mailing  the  first  of  its  Equal  Employment  Opportunity  (EEO)  audit  letters  to  randomly  selected  broadcast  stations 
 and  multi-  channel  video  program  distributors  (MVPDs).  In  accordance  with  the  provisions  of  47  C.  F.  R.  §§  73.2080(  f)(  4)  and  76.77(  d)  of  the  Commission’s  EEO  rules,  the  FCC  will  audit  the 
 EEO  programs  of  randomly  selected  broadcast  licensees  and  MVPDs.  Each  year,  approximately  five  percent  of  all  licensees  and  MVPDs  will  be  selected. 


 Sample  copies  of  the  audit  letters  are  attached  and  can  also  be  viewed  by  accessing  the  Media  Bureau’s  EEO  page  on  the  FCC  website  at  http://  www.  fcc.  gov/  mb/  policy/  eeo.  A  list  of  the 
 stations  and  MVPDs  to  which  this  group  of  letters  were  sent  is  also  available  on  the  website.  Audit  letters  will  be  mailed  to  additional  broadcast  licensees  and  MVPDs  at  a  later  date, 
 although  the  language  in  the  letters  will  not  necessarily  remain  the  same.
