 On  April  16,  2004,  the  Commission  released  a  Notice  of  Proposed  Rulemaking  (Notice)  1  seeking  comment  on  extending  the  Form  477  local  competition  and  broadband  data  gathering  program 
 for  five  years  beyond  the  current  March  2005  sunset,  with  specified  improvements,  and  on  possible  other  improvements. 


 The  Notice  was  published  in  the  Federal  Register  on  May  27,  2004.  2  Accordingly,  comments  are  due  June  28,  2004,  and  reply  comments  are  due  July  28,  2004.
