C. 20554 DA 04- 275 February 4, 2004 WIRELESS TELECOMMUNICATIONS BUREAU ACTION REGION 43 (WASHINGTON STATE) PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING COMMITTEE ANNOUNCES REGION 43 700 MHz REGIONAL PUBLIC SAFETY PLANNING MEETINGS The Region 43 (Washington) 700 MHz Regional Planning Committee announces a series of upcoming meetings. Each meeting will be held from 10: 00 a. m. to 1: 00 p. m. The purpose of the meetings is work toward the development and adoption of a Regional Plan that will meet the needs of the 700 MHz and 4.9 GHz Public Safety spectrum users in the State of Washington. The meetings will be held on the dates and locations listed below: March 4, 2004 –Spokane Center, 334 W. Spokane Falls Boulevard, Spokane, WA March 31, 2004 – State DIS Boardroom, 605 E. 11 th Avenue, Olympia, WA April 28, 2004 – Yakima Probation Services, 207 S. 3 rd Street, Yakima, WA May 26, 2004 – Snohomish County Public Utility, 1802 75 th Street, SW, Everett, WA June 30, 2004 – Yakima Probation Services, 207 S. 3 rd Street, Yakima, WA Region 43 intends to complete its planning process for the 700 MHz band by the May 26, 2004 meeting, and submit the Region 43 plan to the FCC in June 2004. The Region 43 (Washington) 700 MHz Public Safety Planning Committee meetings are open to the public. All eligible public safety providers whose sole purpose or principal purpose is to protect the safety of life, health, or property in Washington State would utilize these frequencies. It is essential that not only public safety, but all government, Native American Tribal, and non- governmental organizations eligible under Section 90.523 of the Commission’s Rules be represented in order to ensure that each agency’s future spectrum needs are considered in the allocation process.
