On June 10, 2003, Verizon Wireless Puerto Rico (Verizon Wireless), a division of Puerto Rico Telephone Company, filed a petition requesting the Commission to extend, for a limited period of time, the thousands- blocks number pooling deadline in the San Juan— Caguas— Arecibo, Puerto Rico Combined Metropolitan Statistical Area. 1 2. On July 2, 2003, Verizon Wireless filed a motion to withdraw its Petition. 2 According to Verizon Wireless, the Numbering Resource Optimization Fourth Report and Order, 3 released on June 18, 2003, exempted Tier III wireless carriers from pooling until they received a request for local number portability, thereby rendering Verizon Wireless’ petition moot. 3. ACCORDINGLY, IT IS ORDERED, pursuant to the authority delegated under sections 0.91 and 0.291 of the Commission’s rules, 47 C. F.
