C. 20554 News Media In DA 04- 540 Released: February 25, 2004 Announcement of Next Meeting Date and Agenda of Consumer Advisory Committee By this Public Notice, the Federal Communications Commission (“ Commission”) announces the date and agenda of the next meeting of its Consumer Advisory Committee (“ Committee”). Purpose & Functions The purpose of the Committee is to make recommendations to the Commission regarding consumer issues within the jurisdiction of the Commission and to facilitate the participation of consumers (including people with disabilities and underserved populations, such as Native Americans and persons living in rural areas) in proceedings before the Commission. Meeting Date The next meeting of the Committee will take place on Friday, March 26, 2004, 9: 00 A. M. to 4: 00 P. M., at the Commission’s Headquarters Building, Room TW- C305, 445 12 th Street, S. W., Washington, DC 20554. Meeting Agenda At its March 26, 2004 meeting, the Committee will (1) consider recommendations of its Consumer Complaints, Outreach Education, and Participation Working Group regarding electronic access to the FCC; (2) receive briefings by FCC staff regarding bureau activities; (3) observe a demonstration of Voice over the Internet (VoIP) technology and receive an overview of the VoIP rulemaking proceeding; and (4) be briefed on the Quarterly Inquiries and Complaints report. The Committee will also discuss effective partnership strategies with representatives of state and local consumer affairs agencies. Time will be allotted between 10: 00 A. M. and 12: 00 P. M. for working group breakout sessions. The Committee is organized under, and operates in accordance with, the provisions of the Federal Advisory Committee Act, 5 U. S. C., App. 2 (1988).
