Sprint Wireless 401 9 th Street, NW Suite 400 Washington, DC 20004 Re: CALEA Section 107( c) Extension Petition Deadline for Packet- Mode Communications Sprint Corporation TRS Nos. 811754, 819060, 818104, 811156, 806727 Dear Ms. Lancetti: This letter acknowledges your letter of January 6, 2005, containing representations on Sprint’s nationwide deployment of a packet- mode interception capability for push- to- talk (“ PTT”) service, based on the J- Std- 025B industry standard. Because you represent that Sprint now is in compliance with the CALEA statute and the Commission’s rules and orders implementing that statute, relative to push- to- talk service, you seek leave to withdraw your Section 107( c) Petition for Extension of Time, filed January 30, 2004 to the extent it deals with push to talk service. Your request for withdrawal of said petition, as it applies to push- to- talk service is hereby granted. You also state that Sprint is continuing efforts, in conjunction with the FBI, to develop new interception standards for Voice over Internet Protocol (VBoIP) and PTT over cellular (PoC) services, as well as an interim mapping solution for PoC. Your report on progress toward CALEA compliance for these several services will be associated with the still- pending request related to the packet- mode. Please continue to notify the Commission of Sprint’s further compliance with CALEA.
